UPDATE- SYDNEY- MIXED

UPDATE- SYDNEY- ACP australian centre for photography

(Papua New Guinea/Australia) performs a series of caricatures that parody and critique stereotypes of masculinity and femininity in both black and white Australian culture.
Suk Kuhn Oh (South Korea) stages scenes in the manner of a primary school reader that weave the imaginative confusion of a child confronted by the adult world with the trauma of lost identity in post-war Korea.
Toshie Takeuchi (Japan) creates a vast panorama infested by children dressed as bunnies, which dramatise the idiosyncrasies of the infants at play while simultaneously suggesting the possibility of an anthropomorphic adult escape to a new childhood. Meanwhile, the Jackson Twins (UK) present a series of ironically melodramatic self-portraits that draw on the anxious fascination of pop culture with identical twins: cloning, doppelgangers, sibling rivalry, ESP and the notion of the evil other.

MELBOURNE- VERNISSAGE ROSIE KAVANAVOCH the world of kmossed

"Kmossed was invented and directed by Rosie Kavanavoch in January 2007, as a result of the never endin, style salvation- in, disco devillin, partyin like Kate Moss. With style. Kmossed is A state of mind, a wordon the street, a poster, a lightbox, a magazine, a Head Quarters, an exhibition.

Kmossed has no qualifications. It is an ethos, an improvisation. Kmossed elaborates on the concept of individual power and the collective force of fashion, art, and THEIR alluring benefits, tempations and somewhat rocky marriage. It`s the tour-de-force, the coming of age, the memory of nylon burns on hands and knees, the chaos theory on the stockmarket; faster, simpler, skinnier, smarter and less full of bullshit. Kmossed is here to stay."

MELBOURNE- ARCHITOUR SOUTHERN CROSS STATION

One of the busiest transport hubs in Australia was an uninspiring place to arrive in such a beautiful city until it was given a 280m makeover by UK- based architects Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners and locals Daryl Jackson Architects. The undulating roof acts as filer to vent fumes naturally. Orange pods house the station administration.

SAY GOODBYE TO SSAW STORE

MELBOURNE- DAY OUT- PHILLIP ISLAND

MELBOURNE- ARCHITOUR ACCA

Opened in 2002, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art is a very urban building,
yet resembles a large, rusting agriculturalshed, like those seen in rural Australia. Set within a landscape of roads, train lines and warehouses, architects Roger Wood and Randall Marsh said they wanted to create a sculpture in which to show art. The abstract steel exterior is in stark contrast to the glass foyer, which is accesed by the only obvios opening in the building, and the four white- walled gallery spaces of varying sizes. ACCA shows work by international and Australian contemporary artists, such as Barbara Kruger, Gillian Wearing and Callum Morton.

MELBOURNE- FEDERATION SQUARE

This controversial cluster of building on the banks of the Yerra River by London- based LAB architecture studio and local firm Bates Smart Architects uses a fractal triangular design in three materials: zinc, glass and sandstome. Within the square are bars, restaurants, cultural and tourist centres.

MELBOURNE- ARRIVAL

Erinnert stark an Europa.
