The name of the perfume (untitled) is direct, pragmatic, distinctive and whitewashed of any hint of a creator or a particular source of inspiration. It is devoided of emotion, lays claim to the essential, the blank page, the beginning of all things and says straight out that the perfume stands on its own merit, like a garment bearing a blank label, no logo. Alongside the bottle (untitled) displays connotations of the laboratory, the workshop, experimentation and craftsmanship, the brand’s very roots. »Everyone can feel called into question by a coulour, a shape or a garment… We wanted to give a perfume the same chance. Stripped of any reference to an influence or precise climate, (untitled) can be interpreted and worn for all occasions by every one of us.« Maison Martin Margiela
The perfume bottle was designed by Maison Martin Margiela in a collaboration with Fabien Baron, the founder of the amazing agency Baron&Baron.

Additional information: The first batch of (untitled) will exclusively be available on January 25th, 2010 at Colette. Those of you who are not based in Paris will have to wait until it hits Maison Martin Margiela stores in March 2010.
