HEIDENHEIM- KUNSTMUSEUM- ANDREAS FEININGER PHOTOGRAPHIE

UPDATE- ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHIE- PRAKTICA LTL

PEKING- LANDMARKS- 798 ART DISTRICT

It was here that Beijing`s avant garde first stumbled on a post- industrial promised. land, that
proletarian slogans on the walls providing a powerfully gimmicky context. The area was soon dubbed 798, after
the Bauhaus style factory798 electronics plant at it core, now the 798 space exhibition centre ( above)
. Sections were mothballed by the 1980s and pennies per square metre rents in the mid 1990s attracted
the first resettiers; the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Art publisher Robert Bernell moved in and seminal artists
like Huang Rui, followed Dark forces nearly spoiled in. Citing safety hazards, 798`s owner wanted to pull up high rises in it`s
place, but well connecteddenizens of the community saved the day.

BEIJING- LANDMARKS- FORBIDDEN CITY

Chairman Mao `faced south, just as any emperior of yore would, on declaring his dominion from the Gate of Heavenly
Peace in 1949. But supersition, it is said, stopped him from ever stepping foot inside the Forbidden city
itself. The Son of Heavens`s old digs really sparkle under a winter dusting of snow and are equally as impressive at night.

known, are `pig`s liver red`. The bricks are of white lime and glutinous rice and there are egg white in the cement.

CHINESE PHOTOGRAPHER LU NAN

Lu Nan is given the name "the most legendary photographer in China" . His
legend comes from his unique characteristic and his mysterious creative experience.
During fifteen years' of his photography career, Lu has been a preacher of
imagery. For many people in the Chinese photography world, he seems to be even
more famous in the "art" circle. One of his early pieces Add One Meter to a
4 Nameless Hill has become one of the classic images in the Chinese contemporary art history. Lu is the first Chinese photographer who' s recognized by the well-known Magnum Photos. He is also the only Chinese photographer that had
been featured in the APERTURE magazine. Lu is constantly invited to participate in
numerous exhibitions; however, he is extremely selective about the exhibitions he
is involved with. Lu also refused to have his portrait taken by others, so it' s very
rare to see any photo documentations of him. For fifteen years, Lu has been leading
a life that' s almost like a monk, spending his time working and studying. Lu
believes in that "good stuff comes out of reticence."
